Commission-Based Positions

Many of our positions are commission-based, meaning your income is directly tied to your performance and results. This structure rewards high performers and provides unlimited earning potential.

How It Works:

Base commission rates vary by role and performance tier
Commission is calculated on closed deals, completed projects, or achieved milestones
Higher performers earn higher commission percentages
No cap on earnings - the more you deliver, the more you earn

1099 Independent Contractor Status

Team members at Recipe Labs work as independent contractors (1099), not employees. This provides flexibility and autonomy in how you work.

What This Means:

You operate as an independent business entity
Flexible work schedule and location
You're responsible for your own taxes (see Tax Information below)
No traditional benefits (health insurance, PTO, etc.)
You can work with other clients/companies simultaneously

How We Pay

We use modern payment systems to ensure fast, reliable payments for all our contractors.

Payment Methods:

Direct Deposit (ACH): Fastest method, typically 1-2 business days
Wire Transfer: Available for larger payments, same-day processing
PayPal: Available upon request
Check: Traditional check mailing available

Payment Schedule:

Commission payments: Processed within 7-14 days of deal closure/project completion
Monthly retainer positions: Paid on the 1st and 15th of each month
All payments include detailed invoices for your records

Tax Information & Forms

As a 1099 independent contractor, you'll receive tax forms and need to handle your own tax obligations.

Tax Forms You'll Receive:

Form 1099-NEC: Issued if you earn $600 or more in a calendar year
Forms are mailed by January 31st of the following year
Digital copies available in your contractor portal

Your Tax Responsibilities:

You're responsible for paying your own income taxes
Estimated quarterly tax payments may be required
Self-employment tax applies (Social Security & Medicare)
Keep detailed records of all business expenses
Consider consulting a tax professional for guidance

Deductions You May Qualify For:

Home office expenses (if you work from home)
Business equipment and software
Professional development and training
Internet, phone, and utilities (business portion)
Travel and meal expenses (when applicable)

Income Potential

Commission-based roles offer significant earning potential for motivated individuals.

Earning Examples (Varies by Role):

Entry Level: $30,000 - $50,000 annually (commission-based)
Mid Level: $50,000 - $100,000 annually (commission-based)
Senior Level: $100,000+ annually (commission-based, uncapped)
Performance bonuses and tier multipliers available
Top performers can exceed $150,000+ annually
